Where Do Public Charter School Students Live?

Each year, we see more and more families choosing to send their children to a top-ranking public charter school. As our Student Commute Maps show, families are willing to travel for a quality educational program.

As part of our #TransparenSEE efforts, the DC Public Charter School Board produces maps of where students reside for each public charter school. Used as information tools to better serve students, families, and schools, these maps show:

  • Students commute from every quadrant of the city
  • Students living in Wards 7 and 8 attend school closer to their home
  • Students attending Tier 1 schools live in every Ward of the city

More information, including access to each school’s Student Commute Map, can be found on the school’s profile page here.
