The Washington Post released its highly acclaimed list of America’s Most Challenging High Schools.

Among this year’s 2,300 top performers are three DC “Tier 1” public charter schools – KIPP DC - College Preparatory PCS, Thurgood Marshall Academy PCS, and Washington Latin PCS.  All three high performing schools have wait lists—Washington Latin has 254, Thurgood Marshall has 33, and KIPP DC - College Preparatory PCS has 303.

Many factors are taken into consideration when ranking these schools, but the Challenge Index considers the students college test preparedness, as demonstrated by SATs scores, to be the best indicator of student success.

As three sought after public charter schools, they represent the quality educational options that are providing students with the skills necessary to excel in college and beyond.

The list, created annually highlights and ranks schools across the country based on a simple ratio designed to measure college readiness and test preparedness.

Congratulations to the schools ranked this year!
