Students Have Until December 8 to be Compliant with Immunizations

November 14, 2025

Families have until December 8 to have their students become compliant with their immunizations, or their children could be excluded from school.

Students in grades pre-K3, kindergarten, 7th, and 11th must be compliant with their immunizations, or they could be temporarily removed from schools. Once students can show that their immunizations are up to date, they can return to school.

Many infectious diseases, such as measles, are highly contagious and dangerous for the youngest students.  To prevent the spread of these infectious diseases, it is vital that all students are fully immunized.  This will prevent an outbreak among unimmunized children and adults who are unable to receive immunizations.

DC Health Immunization Division developed a new section on their website dedicated to providing information on vaccine-preventable diseases, including the Docket app, where District residents can access personal and/or family immunization records on file with the District of Columbia Immunization Information System (DOCIIS) at vaccines.dc.gov.

You can also find a clinic on the website as well or contact your health provider.  For more details, you can review the school immunization policy here.
