Statement on Chancellor Henderson

The DC Public Charter School Board issued the following statement about Kaya Henderson's decision to step down as Chancellor of DC Public Schools:  

"Kaya Henderson has a been a true gift to our city as she has led the stunning improvement in the quality of DC Public Schools,” said Scott Pearson, DC Public Charter School Board Executive Director.  β€œShe has been a consistent partner and friend to DC's public charter schools, always putting first the interests of all of DC's children. We will miss her energy, her principled leadership, her commitment to equity, and her passion. She leaves an extraordinary record of achievement which demonstrates what is possible when an urban school system has sustained, excellent leadership.”
