Robert Ross
Robert (Rob) Ross leads the Data Engineering and Analytics teams, where he guides the agency’s data strategy to strengthen transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making across DC’s public charter schools. Rob brings deep experience from both public institutions and the tech sector. Before joining DC PCSB, he built the first data science team at the Cook County Assessor’s Office following a landmark investigation with the Chicago Tribune that exposed inequities in property tax assessments. He also led product strategy at a technology startup and helped establish a performance-focused data team at the Maryland Transit Administration. Rob holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from Bard College, a Master’s in Economics from the University of Illinois Chicago, and a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy.
