School Equity Reports

April 25, 2019

The DC Public Charter School Board released the fifth annual School Equity Reports for public charter schools. The reports describe how public charter schools are performing on a variety of measures of educational equity, including attendance, discipline, student movement, and academic growth compared to all DC students.

What is an Equity Report?

Equity in education refers to all students receiving the same caliber of education regardless of their race, ethnicity, economic status, special education status or other factors. These reports give our schools, families and communities transparent and comparable information related to equity across all DC schools.

For four years, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), the DC Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB) in consultation with public charter schools and the Office of Deputy Mayor for Education partnered to create the annual Equity Reports. Equity Reports are a complement to our School Quality Reports and the DC School Report Card.

***Note:  Schools that serve adults and schools in their first year do not have a 2017-18 Equity Report available.
