During the September 30, 2014 Charter School Leaders meeting, the 2014 Authorizer Survey was administered to school leaders.  A total of 34 school leaders completed the survey.

The survey was first administered in Fall 2012 to assess satisfaction and to collect feedback about PCSB's oversight. Each year of the survey PCSB improved its overall grade. Thirty-seven percent of school leaders in 2013-14 surveyed gave PCSB an 'A', which is a significant improvement from the past two years.

Accountability is an important component of PCSB's work with DC public charter schools. However, PCSB works hard to ensure that as an entity, it remains accountable to the public charters as well. Eighty percent of school leaders surveyed noted that they 'Agree' or 'Strongly Agree' with PCSB's clarity when communicating its accountability expectations for Non-Academic Performance.

A large part of PCSB's oversight includes visiting schools. PCSB staff and board members visit schools to ensure the school community is learning and thriving. On average 42% of school leaders reported that PCSB staff, including those that visited during the QSR (Qualitative Site Review), visited schools about two to four times throughout the 2013-14 school year. Eighty percent of school leaders, on average, believe that PCSB staff and board visited the schools the right number of times. Comparatively, based on the survey data, school leaders would appreciate more informal visits done by PCSB staff members. Only 61% of school leaders throught that the number was 'just right.'

More than 60% of school leaders 'Agree' or 'Strongly Agree' that PCSB is both constantly improving oversight and implementing its policies fairly. This year's results show that PCSB earned a 3.2 GPA among charter school leaders.
