Notice of Petition to Amend Charter: New Location - DCI PCS
Vote Date
Summary
The District of Columbia Public Charter School Board (“DC PCSB”) announces an opportunity for the public to submit comment on a request to amend its location submitted by DC International School (“DCI”) on August 1, 2016. DCI is currently in its third year of operation serving students in grades 6-9, and the school will continue to add a grade each year until it serves students through 12th grade. DCI proposes to permanently relocate from its existing Ward 1 facilities to the former Walter Reed campus in Ward 4, located in Building 11 (Delano Hall) at 6900 Georgia Avenue, NW. The school reports the architectural plans for the site are complete, so it’s currently waiting to receive the final “hand-off” from the city to begin construction. If approved, this permanent relocation will be effective for SY 2017-2018. Pursuant to the School Reform Act, D.C. Code 38-1802 et seq., a charter school must submit a petition to revise its charter, which includes its location.
