DC Public Charter School Board Governance Training Learning Management System Request for Proposal (RFP)

The District of Columbia Public Charter School Board (PCSB) seeks proposals from individuals and organizations that are experienced in providing Learning Management Systems (LMS). The DC PCSB will begin providing training for over 700 new and experienced School Board of Trustees Members leading the District’s 66 Local Education Agencies (LEAs). We seek an LMS that can house the training content, track learner usage, facilitate communication between learners and instructors, assess learner understanding, and be adaptable for multilingual learners and/or those with learning disabilities. The proposal should include technical support and system access for one year.

Josephine C. “Jo” Baker Receives DC Public Charter School Board’s Award for Exceptional Service

Josephine C. “Jo” Baker, former Board Chair and Executive director of the DC Public Charter School Board from 1996 through 2011, received the DC Public Charter School Board’s Award for Excellence at the 2016 May Board Meeting. The DC Public Charter School Board's Award for Excellence acknowledges an individual who has made positive contributions to the Board through volunteer effort.

Jo’s service to the city of Washington, DC began nearly 50 years ago. She began as a DC Public School educator and continued on to teach aspiring teachers at George Washington University. She also served as a founding member and past chair of the National Association of Charter School Authorizers Board.

During the award’s presentation Scott Pearson, DC Public Charter Board Executive Direct explained, “Because of Jo’s leadership DC public charter schools are considered to be at the leading edge of public education reform in the country, and it is for these reasons that Jo is being recognized tonight.”

Former DC PCSB board chair and Executive Director, receives an award for exceptional service.
