Position Overview: 
This is a part-time position. The Instructional Manager for Ward 5 will work Monday – Thursday from 5:00 pm – 9:30 pm. The Instructional Manager for Ward 8 will work Monday – Thursday from 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
The Instructional Manager, under the direction of the Principal, will provide coordination and facilitation of Academy of Hope’s evening programs by supporting and supervising adjunct staff to ensure a focus on student achievement. The Instructional Manager will also ensure a positive climate and culture for staff and students during the evening program by coordinating activities and events to recognize and celebrate accomplishments. The Manager will support an effective instructional program implementation through observation and feedback cycles to adjunct staff. 

• Manage campus activities in alignment with AoH school-wide standards and policies. Responsibilities include managing daily activities, observing classroom instruction and providing feedback, and communicating campus-wide information to students, teachers and volunteers;
• In partnership with the Principal, assist with retention of and communication with volunteers and monitoring of volunteers’ duties, assignments and hours;
• In partnership with the Registrar, support site recruitment and outreach efforts, student registration, intake interviews and testing;
• Ensure quality data collection, including:
o Oversee process of taking and recording campus attendance
o Coordinate ongoing student assessment including eCASAS, GED practice, Accuplacer and other standardized tests
• Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback and instructional support to adjunct staff.
• Work alongside evening Student Support Specialist to ensure a high level of student support efforts, respect and cultural sensitivity.
• Conduct regular campus meetings with adjunct staff to communicate campus progress and organizational news.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience
• Strong andragogic knowledge and content expertise in adult literacy and numeracy; understanding of Adult Education Standards (CCRS and CASAS)
• Ability to promote and coordinate the development and implementation of research based instructional strategies into the classroom environment
• Good judgment and ability to navigate challenging situations
• Ability to be flexible in the face of new and evolving data or changing needs
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving constructive feedback.
• Must be able to effectively conduct teacher observations using school specific rubric and provide high leverage feedback that facilitates teacher reflection and growth
• Experience in coaching classrooms with needs in either culture or instruction, or both
• Proven ability in using student-level data to guide instructional decisions.
• Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to inform instructional decisions
• Experience leading teachers to achieve ambitious goals
• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred; with a minimum of three years coaching and or leadership experience
• Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated success in the classroom, preferably within an urban school setting
