DC PCSB Highlights “Hidden Figures” in DC Public Charter Schools for Black History Month

March 2, 2026

During February, DC PCSB highlighted many of the heroes behind the scenes in DC public charter schools, showcasing their important work that deserves recognition.

This year’s national Black History Month theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” marks the 100th anniversary of this important observance. To honor the milestone, we launched a special social media campaign, “Hidden Figures in Our Halls,” spotlighting the unsung heroes within our school communities.

The goal of this campaign was to spotlight the educators, staff members, assistants, custodians, parking lot attendants, and countless others who show up every day to make DC public charter schools places where students are supported, inspired, and set up for success.

Visit our social media platforms, @dcpcsb, to see what schools had to say about their “Hidden Figures.”
