As part of the rigorous charter application process, this evening, five applicants seeking to open a public charter schools in DC will present testimony to the Board. The applications are available here. Tonight’s meeting is also an opportunity for the public to offer input about the applications currently open for public comment.

In an effort to promote the hearing and involve the local community, PCSB encouraged local Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners (ANCs) throughout the District to submit written testimony and feedback on the proposed charter applications.

Additionally, PCSB conducted its first Twitter Town Hall on April 8. The town hall provided the DC community with an opportunity to #AskPCSB any questions about the charter applications and review process.

Following tonight’s meeting, staff and board members will visit existing programs.  The Board will vote on each charter application on May 18.

Five charter applicants will present testimony at 6 p.m. at Paul PCS.
