The Board's vote to approve or deny the charter of Community Academy PCS will take place February 19 at 8:30 a.m. at PCSB.  

The PCSB office will be closed on February 16.

Board Chair John “Skip” McKoy issued a statement this morning about postponing the Community Academy PCS vote.

The Board held an informal public hearing, Tuesday evening, on Tree of Life PCS’ 15-year renewal petition.

The Board's vote to approve or deny the charter of Community Academy PCS has been postponed.

The informal renewal hearing about Tree of Life PCS' renewal application will take place on February 11 at 6 p.m. at Tree of Life.

Families and students will have the opportunity to talk to school representatives at the fair on February 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m at THEARC.  

PCSB will be closed in commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Day. DC Public Charter Schools and PCSB will celebrate the day by serving others.

Many schools are experiencing delays due to inclement weather.

Many schools will experience a 2-hour delay on Monday January 12.

What a year in 2014--the District's public charter schools made a lot of progress.  

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education selected Jennifer Ramacciotti, a math teacher at KIPP DC AIM Academy PCS, as the District's Teacher of the Year.

 

Freezing temperatures and ice create school closings and delays this morning.

It's the first snow of the school year!  

Our office is closed Wednesday December 31 and Thursday January 1. 

As part of our oversight of DC public charter schools, PCSB places particular importance on the issue of attendance and truancy.  

Executive Director Scott Pearson sends a letter to the State Board of Educcation about the proposed graduation regulations.
