Today, Executive Director Scott Pearson released the following statement about the Public School Transparency Amendment Act of 2019: 

Earlier this week, we received 11 new applications from groups seeking to open a public charter school in Washington DC. If approved, the school would open in school year 2020-21.

In April 2018, the DC Public Charter School Board launched a major initiative -- #TransparenSEE -- to provide detailed information about DC PCSB and public charter schools.

Every month, DC PCSB publishes a monthly newsletter highlighting the people that work in and the students that attend DC's public charter schools.

Board will meet on Monday to discuss various charter school issues.

The DC Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB) voted 5-1-1 this evening to revoke the charter of National Collegiate Preparatory Public Charter High School, effective at the end of the 2019-20 school year.

On Saturday December 15, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business held its 2018 District of Columbia Public School Leaders Executive Master’s in Leadership (EML) Commencement Ceremony.

Two Harlem Globetrotters team members, Zeus and Bulldog, visited Roots Public Charter School on December 11 to celebrate Virginia McLaurin’s, 109th birthday. Ms. McLaurin is a foster grandparent at the school. This centenarian is also known for dancing with the Obama’s when she was 106.
