Kids Ride Free

The Kids Ride Free program allows public and public charter school students to ride for free on Metrobus, the DC Circulator, and Metrorail within the District to travel to school and school-related activities. For the first time in the program’s inception, Kids Ride Free passes have been preloaded to students DC One Cards if they used the card during the 2016 – 2017 school year.

Students should find their DC One Card as soon as possible or contact their school if they do not have one. Students can check if they have the pass for 2017/2018 school year already loaded on their DC One Card by logging into the website. In order for a student to add the Kids Ride Free Pass to their DC One Card, students need to make sure they do not have a negative balance on their card. The Kids Ride Free pass can be loaded onto the DC One Card at Metrorail stations or on Metrobus and DC Circulator following the instruction in the image below or on the Kids Ride Free website
