Anel Galvez
Anel Galvez supports the Policy and Legislative Affairs team as a Coordinator in the External Affairs Department at DC PCSB. She helps advance DC PCSB’s public policy priorities by conducting research and monitoring local and federal legislative activity. Ms. Galvez joined DC PCSB as a Public Policy Fellow through Leadership for Educational Equity’s Public Policy Fellowship. Prior to this role, she was a Policy and Advocacy Summer Fellow at 8 Million Stories, an adult education nonprofit focused on supporting justice-involved youth. She also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the University of Miami, where she helped strengthen partnerships with local community organizations. Ms. Galvez began her career as a bilingual teacher with Teach For America in Houston, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Social Welfare from Florida State University.
