2025 Charter School Summer Programs

June 30, 2025

As summer approaches, DC public charter schools are offering various academic and enrichment opportunities tailored to support student success, engagement, and growth.

Families can explore a mix of programs, ranging from Extended School Year (ESY) and summer school to summer enrichment, bridge programs, credit recovery, traditional camps, and even youth employment for students enrolled in public charter schools.

These opportunities typically begin in mid‑June ( some starting in July) and are delivered by individual schools, each with its own enrollment dates and program mix.

For example District of Columbia International School is offering a unique experience for students. Its “Summer at DCI” is open to all students and offers courses and camps in team sports, theater, robotics, cooking, and even tabletop role-playing games (RPGs), running in two separate one-week sessions in July. Check out more info here.
